Notes from Meeting 2 of Spring 2019 (May 7, 2019 1:50pm -2:50pm)

Faculty Interest Group “Using Data to Support Teaching and Learning”

Notes from Meeting 2 (May 7, 2019 1:50pm -2:50pm)

During this meeting the discussion converged into the topic of labor market data as how it relates to student success.  More specifically, how can we use data and data projections to support academic program development at the college? The group looked at some real time data from Burning Glass Technologies.  Burning Glass describe themselves as “an analytics software company that has cracked the genetic code of an ever-changing labor market.”  Our Workforce Development office has an account with Burning Glass, and they generously let me use it.
